They also have a crapload of airfields, but they're all hidden in grass covered bunkers like Hobbit homes and the runways appear are blended in to roadways when looked at from above. We've driven past a few, and if they weren't pointed out you wouldn't know what they were. Very clever. Their tunnels (and there are an insane number of those too to get through the mountains) are all rigged with explosives in case of attack ...

    ... house proud and love their gardens. Our cart drivers took us to their family where we had traditional food for a picnic lunch- meats, cheese, fruit, apple juice, wine, pear and cheese pastries and then schnapps. They told us that it would clear a head cold- hope it does because it was like drinking paint stripper! We drove back to the hotel for some free time this afternoon. Dinner at the hotel's adjoining Italian restaurant ...

    ... 333 ft above sea level ( 3.454km) Most of the journey on the trains had scenery to die for! A photographers paradise, thank goodness for digital cameras..wouldn't like to pay for 35mm processing!     ... t remember what it was until I saw it. It is a magnificent location. From our bedroom window we can step out onto a wooden deck and have a view of the waterfall and the valley. The Staubbach Falls have a drop of about 300 metres. They are named that because staub means dust and bach means stream. Apparently, when there is a breeze, the falls can look like dust.
