... had lunch. Of course we had to sample some Black Forest cake which wasn't too bad! Andrew and I went for a walk along a track out the back to where we got a great view of the huge viaduct and stream, complete with quaint German house. See photos. Our seats on the train were in the special VIP section of the Golden Pass line from Montreux to Zweisimmen and then second class on the Golden Pass to Interlaken. According to research this line is the most scenic in Switzerland and if you are only doing one rail trip - this is the best to take. There are only 8 seats in the VIP section and it was fun ...

... is at an elevation of about 2,600 feet while the cliffs above the valley reach almost 10,000 feet. This sheer vertical drop of the cliff faces (over 7,000 feet) is what makes for such a dramatic view...or as Kyle puts it, "its like Yosemite, on crack!"

... It was pretty cool. The next day we decided to head up the mountains a bit and went to Schynige Platte via two trains. It was an amazing train ride as the climb was so steep and the scenery awesome. At the top we did a 2.5hr walk which was along a spectacular ridge with few small peaks along the way. We even got to see cows with bells which was funny. ...
