Goa, Goa, India emeric.bensaci... off - it was in the humid 90s both days. The beach in Baga is WAY more crowded and touristy than Arambol, partially because Goa's famous Carnival festival had just been in town, but we didn't care. We spent our last night in Goa AND OF THE ENTIRE TRIP in our classic way - sunset and drinks on the beach, a nice dinner out, and going out for drinks. A great last full day in Goa! We woke up EARLY on Wednesday morning, February 25, to pack our ...
Goa, India 3vagabonds... her 'bridesmaids' was the norm. There were 8 of us in total, sharing the stage over two shifts. The ceremony itself was very elaborate but for those who didn't have the luxury to be in such close proximity, probably a bit of a blur as you couldn't really hear anything from the dais - there was no microphone. Plus, the thing about Indian weddings is that everyone talks. You are not in a church, where the sound carries, and you put 450 ...
Baroda, India cleavers... certainly wanted to talk cricket but thankfully I couldn't understand him so shook his hand and bid him cheerio.I arrived at the airport two hours early so had a tali in the cafe that was full of taxi drivers. It had a really funny sign, something about happy landings, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was now.Anyway it amused me,rather like the sign I saw that read "infant jesus farm!?" So there i was with my Karen sign in my hand waiting and waiting ...
goa, India gyppojim... a taxi, have a great dinner, go to Cocktails and Dreams, stuble back home. The hammocks were especially fun for Laju as you can see in the photos. Dinner each night just got better and better...our favorite two places were Britto's and Fiesta. After 3 nights we were finding it hard to get back on the flight to Hyderabad...but somehow we all did. Anyway... a great second trip to Goa...good times with other Hyderabad expats. Enjoy the pics.
Goa, India bwulz... a double whammy now. We did manage a days sightseeing where we swan in the freezing cold pools under a beautiful waterfall, went to an old church and a spice farm where we fed elephants. Ken, my Uncle wasn't satisfied with that so he signed up for "Joy with Elephant" which involved him washing the elephant or more like the elephant washing him in the river. (Ken I'll send u the pics soon). We also went to the famous Anjuna market where Dean didn't ...
Palolem, Goa, India squeak_1912... smoking dope, or making jewelry or trinkets to sell in the market. They seemed to be long -term residents and had it pretty good. One evening as I was walking back to the main beach from the smaller beach just north of Arambol, I noticed a crowd gathering. I checked it out and the local Bohemian Crewe was throwing a Mardi Gras parade on the beach! Some people were wearing costumes and crazy make-up. I was pretty ...
Arambol (Goa), India bcc8... than-the -fish" "I'll have the chicken then,, What's your name anyway?" (I'm ready for a Ravi or Shimjar or the like) (leaning a little closer) "My name is Jon,,, Abraham" "Jon,,,,,,,,,,,,, Abraham" "Chicken Biryani then please Jon" A little Indian head shimmy indicating that I had made a very good choice. "And for a drink Matthew?? , I recommend that you try some fanny" (much laughter from our side) "fanny-is-very-good, (leaning closer) have-you-ever-tried-fanny ...
Palolem Beach, India hotfield... Mumbai is a great city - it does not have the same type of appeal as some of the other cities that we visited though. There is defiantely much less culture here and the city has been influenced quite heavily by Western society. The girls walk freely alone at night without being hassled which is great - we felt sooo comfortable walking the streets at night. The girls here are also "normal" - I mean they are not twigs which was refreshing - they had meat on their bones - ie we were once ...
