Killarney road (N72) Mallow, County Cork, Ireland, 22-47156
... it back to town without a scratch. The whole loop took me a good six hours because I kept stopping to snap pictures. I'm sure they all look very similar but when you're there actually experiencing it, it warrants a picture. The next morning I rose early and had breakfast with one of my roommates who was a professional surfer from the Canary Islands. He was absolutely awesome. I then left for Killarney which has an awesome national park. I rented a bike there and just rode around soaking ...
Cork, County Cork, Ireland mulligan.kyle... The tour guide told us that Cork has been hit especially bad by the recession, but in the last few months it has been starting to come out of it. It's kind of crazy to hear about the history of the country because it goes back so far. It's so different from US history since that only goes back to the 1700s. In Ireland they talk about the 15th century and earlier! So our tour was pretty fascinating and after that I went to get a late lunch ...
Cork, County Cork, Ireland kring715... convinced that Galway is the most beautiful city I've ever seen. The next morning I left for Cork, Ireland which so far has proved to be a dissapointment. I'm going to explore the city a little bit today but I look forward to leaving tomorrow because it's quite shady. I'm still debating whether or not I'm going to leave Ireland tomorrow. Theres just so much I didn't get to see. I'll keep you all updated.
Love,
Kyle
Probably one of the best known things in Ireland.
The Blarney Stone is at the top of the castle. You have to sit down and bend over backwards to kiss the stone below you. I made sure I went further down than then other people up there. I guess one advantage of being tall. Don't think I caught anything from the experience.
Also walked around the grounds and saw the house they live in now.
... Rangers are a Protestant team and Celtic is Catholic, so it was like watching a quicker and slightly less violent version of Irish history. I felt bad because I had to do some school work while he was here so I couldn't be a great tour guide. I had a paper due Thursday and classes I was supposed to attend. Craig went along to several of my classes, and if he is to be believed, had a great time. On Thursday he took a quick trip to Armagh while I had class. I was ...
Belfast, United Kingdom bjjohnso... thanks to Oliver Cromwell. Much of the northern part of Ireland was subsequently colonized by English Protestants, while the rest of Ireland remained mainly Catholic, a heritage left by Catholic missionaries in Ireland from the Dark Ages. In the 19th century, industry and manufacture in the north of Ireland began to flourish, while in the south English Protestants owned much of the land resulting in unequal distribution of ...
Cork, Ireland deed... lol). p.s.: I discovered I love using parenthesis! (nominalisation of the preceding sentence: I discovered myself an adoration for the use of parenthesis! (help! I'm starting to do exercises from a boring French class when I'm writing to my friends to tell them what I'm doing during my 4 months trip to Ireland (little summary for those who might have forgotten the goal to all these words)!)) Good night! Zzzzzzzzzz... *kizu for Ches*... Zzzzzzzz............. Mercredi 23 ...
Midleton, Ireland deed... we only managed to endure the snow and cold for another 45 mins until we had to find a pub to try and defrost in. Brent kicked off with his first Guinness of the day, while I warmed up with a couple of white wines before we met up with Brent's mate Sophie and went with her to the Market Place pub where her mates were. I was sufficiently "warmed up" for my first Guinness after the 4th drink of the day...and it actually turned out to be ...
