... no English menus and certainly no McDonalds), Catching the local buses hasn't been too hard as you just stand on the road to where you want to go and flag one down as it passes. Managed always to get where I wanted to go, and back. And have always found something to eat although at times I was not sure what it was After my bike ride with the hostel owner he cooked dinner - rice and duck. I wasn't too sure about the duck and even less sure when he told me it was duck ...

The train ride to Chongqing was a little disappointing as just as the scenery was starting to get quite spectacular with towering cliffs and the Yangtze river flowing tens of metres below, it got too dark to see it. So we recited the poem again, and ate the rest of lunch. In any case, it will give me a reason to try the trip again ...

    ... even heard of it!

The museum houses the artifacts recovered
from the tomb of Marquis Zeng, who died 2400 years ago. His tomb was
accidentally found 60 feet underground by some engineers doing a water project
only a few years ago. It was amazingly intact and had never been looted, so
there was quite a collection there. The Marquis was fond of ‘wine, women and
song’ and this was reflected in his ...
