... South and East/West roads have been converted into touristy (but still fairly genuine) restaurants hostels and shops. We booked onto a bus to Xian, and were looking forward to it, that is until our taxi broke down on the way, and we ended up missing it! So, it is onto the train for us, and a days delay in Pingyao! We are not big fans of the trains here, as despite the non smoking signs here, everyone smokes the entire way.
