... buried pork, beef, chicken, pumpkin with rice and potatoes and cook it under the ground, protected by leaves from the sand. Other nights were lobster or steak, fresh fish of the day or chicken. Everything was delicious and the staff was excellent! After dinner we usually found ourselves seated around the kava bowl with the staff. As the night grew on and the 'taki taki' came our way we were feeling great and it was awesome to be in the ...

... and jumped into a very simple open boat with a gigantic engine and bounced in a bone crunching fashion to the waiting Catamaran which whisked me to the Wanna Taka cruise boat (A.K.A Party Boat). I'm staying on the "Party Boat" tonight before heading to another island further south tomorrow. Boarded the Wanna Taka which a big lime green coloured cruiser. A dozen of us are staying on the boat tonight and they seem like a fun bunch so we should have a good laugh ...

... a highly structured day of any activity you wanted to do with a picnic lunch on one of the island's many private beaches. All of it was inclusive - no questions asked. Our bure papa and the rest of the staff accommodated all of our wild requests that I'll talk about in a bit. One of our favorite things to do was take a motorboat to a private beach where we could hang out for as long as we wanted and enjoy a picnic lunch with any bottle of wine we wanted (we would normally get the ...

... but large quantities. The coral reefs were much deeper at this site. Yesterday, they were between 6' to 10' deep, but the coral today was closer to 15' to 30' deep. In the afternoon there was another visit to a local school back in the Yasawa chain. Most of the tour group didn't participate in this trip. The evening was another trip to a local village for a tour and kava welcoming ceremony. Not that our group was a bunch of grumps (anything but ...

... beach, alone, waving with a blue hankerchief! Heading back down in the direction of the mainland, I got off at Coconut Bay to find only 6 of us inhabiting the resort that night - the lowest yet! The resort is very relaxed, which is what I wanted and there's two more resorts on the beach should we be in need of greater company. As it's overcast today, there wasn't a great calling to the beach and so we 6 watched a coconut demonstration which involved the ...

... and so the walk back to the resort was much longer. At Sunrise there was a game of volleyball between staff and guests - the Fijians, and in particular Deborah, putting the international team to shame. Everyone sat around the tabel for dinner, which is fantastic when travelling alone. Lonely Planet described the resort as "a sort of South Seas school camp full of 18 - 25 year olds desparate to exclaim 'hi, my name is ...

... certification which would allow me to dive all over the world! The course involved reading, tests and about 7 underwater dives. I completed the course with flying colors and I was so glad that I did it. I went to four different dive sites and saw so many beautiful things underwater: ghost coral, a sting ray, parrot fish, trumpet fish and so many other things I did not know the name of. Ghost coral was probably my favorite; its purple but it turns white when you ...

... mom!) but there was no internet or even phones on the island. I'm serious! They used a walkie to radio to the mainland and that was our contact with the outside world! The place was astonishingly beautiful, I can't wait to go back. What stared as a 3 day wind-down became a 6 day coma and the ONLY reason I left is because I knew my Mom would be freaking out with no word of me. I send everyone my love! Tin Tin
