... gotten so far up - the water level is much higher at this time for some reason. We played around a bit - I tried to go up the creek but didn't want to risk capsizing since it was still a bit chilly. I didn't mind the cool water on my quick-drying pants but still didn't want to get totally wet...or have an accident.

... A monumental structure as one of the signs says. It was a great site - the masonry has held up remarkably well. We met the couple there and they told us about a ghost town nearby so we went to check that out and saw them again. As we chatted they told us about Evergreen B&B which you join and then get to go to B&Bs for $$12 a night including breakfast - a great deal. And they said the people were fabulous and friendly.

... our tent and packing up the camp. It is really nice having Alex at an age to help. We had the camp broken down and packed in no time at all. Off to town, we had a nice little breakfast to fuel up for the day. It is at this point I must interject that we had to make a quick stop by the hardware store, where, just the day before, I bought a pair of sunglasses after I apparently left mine somewhere in the Letchworth Park area. ... long after he retired to the tent. Just as a side note, the night before, my air mattress apparently sprung a leak. We agreed he would have the honors of the deflated side tonight. As I entered the tent, I found the boy comfortably sleeping on my side. One shove and he easily slid, face first, onto the non-inflated side of the tent. To my surprise, he did not notice the relocation until the wee hours of the morning, :)
