An early start on a cloudy cool day had us on the boring, but fast, Highway 401 to London Ontario to stop for a visit with my, almost 96 year old, dad.
He is still in amazing health and it is always a challenge to keep up with his mind as he jumps from topic to topic, and is so up to date with the happenings of the world.
A quiet evening, then to sleep early for the final push home ...

Back to London
On the way back to London Ontario, we met an old friend of Brendan's for lunch. Our friendships now clearly revolve around offspring, because these friends have babies close to James' age as well.
We ate at Jack Astor's, a Canadian institution. At the end of lunch, the little 9 month baby tapped James on the head and caused him to sob. He's a sensitive soul.

The Other London
... running it is super friendly. Like most Canadians she is a little bemused why this backpacker should venture to London - most of their guests are people connected to the universities who only need to be in town for a couple of days. However, armed with the guide book I should be fine...it's only three days. Due to the relative obscurity of London on the tourist trail it means the hostel is half empty...this does mean there are few people to talk to but it also ...
