Today we arrived at Rhodes, The Island of the Sun and 4th largest island in Greece, where the sun shines more than 300 days per year. We were fortunate to be greeted by Nikos, a taxi driver who offered to show us around on a private tour of the highlights of the island for 130 Euro. After leaving the Palace, we walked down the Street if Knights which is a medieval road dating back to 408 BC where the Knights of St John actually resided. The pebble stoned road leads straight to the Palace of the Grand Masters. The house are still there and ...

... Muslims, the government has not permitted even one mosque to be built. So no call to prayers before dawn every day, and no covered ladies.
We've visited Lindos too, midway along Rhodes coast, involving a long bus trip, then a longer walk to the top of a large stony mountain, only to find the Acropolis closed for May Day. That's Greece for you!
Next stop, after a forty minute flight with Aegean Airlines, it's the biggest Greek island, ...
