... cheese, other ate milky fior di latte mazzarella balls. The meal ended with chilled glasses of Fernet and cups of gelato, and bellies too full to move. It was delicious and rowdy and entertaining and heart-warming, and I wish I knew more Italian and never wanted it to end and I really couldn't eat another bite. Don't tell anyone, but I even snuck some of my mozzarella balls back to the apartment in my purse, rolled in a napkin!

... seasoned with more of those magical mountain herbs I had gathered on the return walk from Torrone del Molise. As a family, we've managed to buy out two kinds of wine at the local store, so we've switch to another kind, that happens to come in 4-litre plastic jugs. At least we transfer it to a pretty bottle for the table. We finish the evening with a little Fernet, a little Limoncello, a few amaretti cookies and stories of the bus that comes every 20 minutes.
