HEY WELCOME TO MOON BRICKS! THIS IS A WACKY AND FUN SIGHT!
Borehamwood, England, United Kingdom moonbricks... But rather than having a small panic, as I would have done before, I gave a rather flippant sort of ‘yeah, we can do that…’
One of the bizarre things that we are not able to buy in England is stands to display posters on. They have a store called ‘Staples’, which is much like office works, and sells absolutely everything office related except display stands. The unfortunate issue here is that most of the stands for work have been lost ...
So after 6 months away and visiting 8 different countries, we have now arrived, reluctantly, back in England. Although its not as cold as we were expecting, which is a bonus!
We have had a fantastic time and visited some amazing places, and we are now hoping that reality doesn't hit us too hard!
Hope that you have enjoyed our blog and will probably see most of you shortly.
The last few weeks have been really manic while we've prepared to put our furniture into storage and get our property ready for letting. Thankfully, most of the hard work is completed and now we can concentrate on getting ready for our travels. It's difficult to believe that we leave in just under a week!
We fly into Delhi on Monday, arriving very early ...
... cousin Elliot, his fiancee Nicole and their little 8 month old baby Isla came to visit. The girl has personality! After a play we were off to the Green Man for dinner - Uncle Alan joined us again. We had lovely views of the countryside and fireworks (Guy Fawkes seems to drag out for a few days!). Then back home to Hudsons Lodge for an early night - to Paris tomorrow!

... up by my cousin Elliot after some initial issues - Josh and I had hoped to hire a car for a couple of days, however due to lack of credit card we couldn't. Elliot kindly swung past Jim and Cath's to pick up all our 'other stuff' and then to Aunty Sue's house in the country - seriously !
Another country down - just Paris to go on Sunday morning. I can't believe we will be home in a week - the much feared packing will have to begin soon!
XO
... photos and enjoying lunch, cheerful ducks made their way in and out of the water and at times plunging their entire heads beneath the coolness. Bicycles whizzed past us, piloted by people who seemed to enjoy themselves in the lovely weather as much as we did.
What captured our attention on the river were the punters. I didn't know the term before and for those of you who would like to be reminded of what punting is I would explain it as ...
... for the coming hostelling leg of our trip. After lunch at a nice Pub we then set off on the fairly long drive to Cambridge. Which brings me to one of the things I just haven't been able to get over since moving to England. The size of the motorways! They are huge, 8 lanes across and full of traffic no wonder the earth is warming. I have probably seen more cars in the 3 months I have been here then in my whole life put together it is completely insane. We got to ...
Cambridge, England, United Kingdom usc_97Beck: Hey guys, sorry about the lack of entries, but there's not much to tell. I started my new job at the University of Cambridge on Wednesday and it looks good. Bill is still looking, but it's early days still. My sister Lauren came to visit for a few days, which was really ...
Cambridge, United Kingdom beckandbill... did not want to disturb the students study time. I imagine it must be hard to study here in Cambridge as all the colleges, along with their magnificent buildings and views of the river Cam, have gorgeous greens and private gardens (open to staff and students). My relaxing evening started out with beers back at the Anchor pub. This is a great spot as the ...
Cambridge, United Kingdom flyin_bayman... I a 5 to 10 minute spiel on the things to do and see in Cambridge. He also said that there are more than 30 colleges in Cambrige. wow. That's a heck of a lot of colleges. Sandra and I followed his advice. WE walked along the scholar avenue (don't remember the real name), where tons of brilliant people got their degrees in the large, beautiful structure that marked the length of the street. We then paced along the ancient road of gated university roads to reach the river ...
