... oldies. Mind you Kathy feels that my last night helping with the consumption of a fine 2006 St Etienne, a lovely Var Rose we brought, then a locat Pic St Loupe red and finally some pear spirit contributed somewhat.

We decided to slow down, catch up by spending 2 nights in this lovely city with graceful arched bridges spanning the river below. The hotel has been a comfortable stay and, being on the edge of the city centre, has provided ...

Leaving our hotel on the fringe of town, we made our way [somewhat circuitously!] to the very popular very old town of St Guilhem le Desert. Camares Town in Midi-Pyrenees. Really nice interesting town. Enjoy a trip round nutty car museum! Aire on River Dourdou. Really nice newly improved full facilities plus loaned shower block. We said goodbye to our not so great stopover last night. Left first thing in rain but arrived after yet another beautiful drive over mountains at our destination here in this lovely riverside town. This time the Aire is purpose built, has a very funny welcome sign in English ...

... may have done something very bad to it but I did make it down the hill. There was a street market and I managed to hobble over there for a bit as well but came back to the rendezvous point to sit and wait for the gang. Everyone was on time and the bus pulls up and we hop on board for our ride to Albi.

Albi is flatter but that meant that everyone walked faster. We got off the bus, through the streets to the market area and into ...
