... an Ammonite and cool rocks from one stall then we headed home for some lunch. In the afternoon we went for a great bike ride through the countryside and explored some forest on foot (which ended up in a large broccoli field!) When we got back we played and intense game of Scrabble and then relaxed in the spa soaking up the view down the valley. After packing our bags and departing from the Hotel in Toulouse, we picked up our hire car and navigated our way out of the city. Once on the motorway it was a breeze. Nice that speed limit on it was 130kmph as it made the trip to Castelnau-de-Montmiral a lot quicker. As we were early (couldn't arrive before 3pm) we stopped at Gaillac for supplies and for ...

... a local cellar and could not resist buying a few local white and red wines to take back to our Gite. One of the more interesting wines we tried was a ginger rose, it certainly had a different taste and although not a favourite it would be refreshing on a hot day.

We arrived in Albi on dusk and were immediately in awe of the huge 'pink' brick Cathedral of St Cecile. It is the worlds largest brick cathedral being 113m long, 35m wide and has an ...
