    Will write this up as time permits but the highlight for me today was the visit to a little village called Apremont which is very proud of being beautiful and rightly so http://www.apremont-sur-allier.com/the% 20village.html

    ... beautiful inside. Bits date from the 12 century and of course it has been added to many, many times. We were allowed to walk about the now grassed moat and inspect the siege machines still there. Amazing stuff. (Found out later they were replicas - gutted!)

    Back at the bikes we heard a BANG as someone's tyre exploded! This was a real problem as Arie carries tubes/inners but not tyres. We sat in the sun for a good hour while he made a repair that ...
