We were woken regularly throughout the night by the sound of the village church bells striking the hour, so it was not an early start today! After breakfast we went for a walk round the village, and after the inevitable cup of coffee we found ourselves in the narrow cobbled streets of Condom just as the church bells started ringing for mass. What a wonderful sound echoing around the buildings.
The taxi collected us at 2pm, and we were back at the Locaboat ...

... We moored for a quick lunch at Moncrabeau, then carried on to our port for the night: Condom (no s******ing at the back of the class, please). It was the birthplace of D'Artagnan, a captain in Louis XIV's guard, who was the inspiration for Alexandre Dumas's 3 Musketeers stories. There's a large statue of them in the town centre.
The local tipple is Armagnac - another type of brandy, and there is a museum ...

As this is our last half day on the boat we set off to look at the Farmers market a short distance away. There were beautiful fruits and meats on offer but as we didn't have the Motorhomes and had a taxi ride back to Agen ahead of us we just looked and took in the lovely smells.
