... van onto a spacious pitch and ended up taking about 10 attempts which only goes to show how tired I was. So it was an early night for me.
The next day I went exploring and found a lovely lake right next door to the site and an even lovelier village a few minutes walk away. Rochefort en Terre is reputed to be one of the most beautiful villages in France and I agree, it is a joy. To add to my pleasure there were some ...

So the break from cycling was good today, but it was still a full day :). This evening was lovely. We had a very nice dinner in town, along with some very good wines. ... four different ciders that they make here. The business has been in the family for 3 generatioons. It has definitely warmed up now and we're all going through the water. The last stretch before we reach the hotel is apparently another 20kms. I'd be happy to stop now but decide to 'suck it up' and keep going. I did have to explain to Janice that it meant I would continue riding and not take the bus. It was hotter than before, the riding was ...

... we have seen so far, is quite different. The houses are very well kept, the gardens are lush and full of flowers, as are roadside verges and public spaces. We're out for dinner tonight too. The group has a booking on a restaurant boat moored in the river port tonight. We have a big ride planned for tomorrow, 65kms or thereabouts and the day is forecast to be 31degrees. I hope the bits that are sore tonight are less sore tomorrow ...
