Several people had walked up and down the route we had taken and I doubt if any of them had realised the significance of what was there!
We made our way back to the MH for lunch and found we had been joined by many other MH's in the car ...

... and nothing was open and the chair lift wasn't running. So we decided to press on to a campsite we had picked out at Murat-le-Quare. It was called Le Panoramique and promised , what else,panoramic views over the Puys!

... us remained blue with fluffy clouds but behind us, it was so dark, it looked like the death star descending. Thunder rumbled ominously but luckily we stayed dry. The scenery is beautiful, very green with patches of forest and open grassland covered with wild flowers. Patches of snow are still visible on some of the higher peaks.

After returning to Ruby, we headed for a campsite just outside Chambon -sur-Lac. The campsite is lovely with coloured bird boxes ...

... was the first thought in my head and so as to relieve the agitated feeling (you know the one) I decided to get on my bike go to the nearest Carrefour and get provisions for a BBQ that night. Astoundingly I did just that and nobody stopped me....or even tried. However, that activity was all too easily accomplished, so I thought that given I'm on the edge of the Massif Central with all of its (over a hundred allegedly) recently ...

Apart from all the other people who tried to assist me with directions to this elusive and totally upmarket Campsite, the three guys who were undertaking some drain construction outside the house one of them owned deserve a special merit award. After a short discussion about my trip they first tried to ply me with Whiskey and then, not content with my refusal insisted that I share a bottle of wine while they phoned ...
