    Race Day

A travel blog entry by legoodtimesroll on Jul 10, 2015

Graham met another trathlete on the campsite and they decided to travel on the 7.30 bus into Geneva. An early start with number tattoos applied , sun cream on and pre race breakfast. I delivered them to the bus stop and went back to see if there was any other signs of life at base camp. Slowly the campers emerged and prepared themselves for the day ahead in the hot sun, We failed to get to the bus stop by 10am as planned so had to wait another half ann ...

... We packed the bikes, packed our gear, and headed to bed for an early night, as we are leaving the hotel for our flight to Bastia, at 4.30 am. Friday We got up at 4.00 am, and the hotel shuttle took us and our bike boxes the 5 min drive to the airport. Our flight to Bastia was uneventful, just 55 mins, and we collected our luggage and bike boxes, and conveniently the bus into town had storage holds underneath, and we were able to put the bike boxes there for the 22 km trip ...

... and I would have to pay again. Anyway with Graham in charge "the operation tandem on roof" went very well and we got out of the car park and back to the tranquility of the campsite. Three tents now set up, on our pitch this is what you call "family camping" . Sarah and Duncan arrived at 10 30 Graham having picked them up from the airport. Not too late a night for the travellers and the triathlete who was going to be up ...

... much shallower than that. Lac Annecy is fed by springs and streams with the site of the main spring being 45m below the surface. The deepest point in the lake is a whopping 82m! As we boated around we were told that one village on the lake shore here is the third most expensive place to buy real estate in all of France. Paris is first and Nice is second. Interesting and it makes me wonder if George might be looking to add another lakeside home ...

    Discoveries

A travel blog entry by alanad.abroad on Feb 21, 2015

... had no clue when they would come. When we got home we discovered that it might be 8 something. On the back order slip there was the number 8. The question was 8 days, weeks, months or year. A couple of days later they tried to deliver but we weren't home so they left them with the business located on the main floor of our apartment. So who knows what the 8 was because it was not 8 days later. Phil’s thrilled ...
