... and yes, the mountains are impressive.
As we didn't want to take Frankie too high into the alps, we chose a campsite at Lausanne on Lake Geneva. It is known as Lac Leman by the locals. The first day we went to the lake to have a look. The water was clear, blue and very clean. Apparently it has not always been like it and in the 1960's it was too polluted to swim in. When you stay ...

    Race Day

Graham met another trathlete on the campsite and they decided to travel on the 7.30 bus into Geneva. An early start with number tattoos applied , sun cream on and pre race breakfast. I delivered them to the bus stop and went back to see if there was any other signs of life at base camp. ... bundled up for a ferry ride. This plan lasted only about 5 minutes because a round-trip ticket to ride the ferry for both of us would have been 72 Euro. YIKES! No thank you. We have too many trips left to take still on our tight travel budget. So, we sadly didn't take the ferry ride.

Onward down the road we went, stopping into a small cafe for a cappuccino and then our final stop of the day before making it back to the airport was at a place called Vinorama. With ...

    ... to the Reformation museum.

The museum was fantastic and incredibly informative. The displays were beautifully organised and some were interactive, so we spent a while choosing different Medieval songs and turning levers to open books and houses. The books, especially the covers with the incredibly fine detail, were exquisite. A highlight from the museum was seeing original manuscripts from Martin Luther. The fact that they had them in mint condition was ...
