Woke up with high hopes of an early ride today looked out the window and could not believe how far down the mountain the cloud had rolled. Climbing big Cols was out of the question.
We took an early morning trip St Jean de Maurienne to stock up on supplies and have a coffee and croissant. The weather started getting worse so it was time for bread, cheese, salami and wine.

... a great place to base so when we come back again that would be my choice. Our hotel has Col markers for sale of the famous climbs, I was quickly told by the manager that I have to earn them before purchasing. Oooh! very protective of their little markers.
On the plus side the weather will improve over the next two days and feel more like summer again by Sunday. Too wet to do much except wash the bike and polish off a bottle of red tonight.

Attempted to get to a local park where the snow runoff lands in a wonderful waterfall but it was FREEZING!! So we went home and Nicholas practised his Boy Scout skills and made us a fire. Anyway they were absolutely marvellous to see and I wish I had my camera. We went back to the same restaurant as Friday. They are fantastic. Brent and Nicholas shared a fondue experience.
