    ... it on, the lens cycles in and out until it eventually decides it has a "lens error". Sandy realised that it was my 2013 birthday present and so must be just under 12 months old and under warranty. A quick email and tweet to Nikon and they had v good news.     ... du lauteret (2000m) followed by the galibier. The tour will take part of the route we rode and campervans were flowing into the best vantage points in significant numbers ( 2 days before stage starting). The day ended with dinner in Bourg D'Oisans next to a river with trout followed by Rob singing Highway to Hell with the local camp band and Rob and Tony being chatted up by an tipsy older Belgium ...

    This is to be another epic day in the French Alpes . We were off to take on the mighty Col du Galibier. Woody was having trouble with his knee form previous rides so it was decided that we would hire a bus to take us to Col du Tautaret and then take on the Galibier.     ... potato mash with vanilla beans......works for me.
    So far this trip this joint is right up there with "Steak" in Edinburgh for the best grub. "Steak" is still ahead for best total eating experience.

    Back at our hotel for a night cap, our bar waiter indulged us with super large slugs of Baileys for Sue and Genepi pour moi....topped off a great day.

    Today we had another climb planned up to Village Notre Dame which is on the opposite side of the valley from alpe d'heuz. The ride up to the Notre dame is just as impressive as the cliff cut road that we rode on from the back of the Sereene Climb. The views were spectacular and the feeling of exposure was real.
