... technical problem the whole spa was closed! The afternoon was put to good use catching up on washing and cleaning instead, not exactly the pamper afternoon we had envisaged!

So much for dodging the rain too, we've had some pretty good downpours ever since we arrived and the van was rocking for all the wrong reasons last night!

Back at hotel base we looked for a place for dinner in the area, nut it was Sunday, and mostly anything other than a bar was closed. We had to settle for a warmed slice of quiche and a beer at a bar in Pont Aven. No plate or cutlery, just the quiche on a piece of aluminum foil!

... leaving Vannes drove to Rennes Airport to catch the Flybe plane to Southampton. Was sad to finish our time in France. Learnt so much about the wars, William the Conquerer's life in the Bayeux Tapistries and seeing Monet's garden do house. Pauline met s there and drove us to her home in Salisbury. Great to see Pauline and David ...

    Douarnenez to Auray

A travel blog entry by marlwhite on Sep 02, 2014

Douarnenez is a fairly large seaside resort and our accommodation at a Les Residence d'lamour was very close to the beach. After leaving Douarnenez we drove through the river potty village through To Pointe Croix and to the most western point of Pointe de Raz but really not worth the drive. We then drove to Pont d L'Abbe where had lunch ...
