... time. And pretty much all the same people who travelled with me on the 11AM ferry are heading back. We make it back to the mainland and I walk back to the car. It's still there even though I thought I'd be towed. Thank goodness. I then drive back to Lorient. Fill up at a gas station, successful this time. Full tank. I find parking right outside the hotel again. Great. And then pick up a few things from the supermarket and local patisserie down the street. I eat in and fall asleep ...

... about, taking photos before sunset. It's really beautiful here. Walked a bit more, trying to find Mama Mia restaurant, which I figured was Italian. A las, it was closed. Maybe for renovation. Walked up some other street and popped into a local grocery. Amazing experience. Was looking for anything to buy, anything. Looked around for a few minutes as I witnessed locals entering and exiting and chatting up the shop owner. Everyone knows each other of course. Shooting the ****, ...

... technical problem the whole spa was closed! The afternoon was put to good use catching up on washing and cleaning instead, not exactly the pamper afternoon we had envisaged!

So much for dodging the rain too, we've had some pretty good downpours ever since we arrived and the van was rocking for all the wrong reasons last night!

Friday was spent walking around the gorgeous town of Vannes (which ...

      ... times.
Back at hotel base we looked for a place for dinner in the area, nut it was Sunday, and mostly anything other than a bar was closed. We had to settle for a warmed slice of quiche and a beer at a bar in Pont Aven. No plate or cutlery, just the quiche on a piece of aluminum foil!
So if you are planning to travel to small towns in France (and perhaps Europe) most restaurants will be closed on Sunday and Monday.

      all the best
