Tom Tom has a penchant for excitement!

It was the day that Tom Tom really came into play! We knew that the mountain roads would be closed for Le Tour but nobody was able to tell us what time exactly! We started early and very soon encountered the gendarmerie closing roads - it was chaos...camper van drivers throwing fists at police, barriers closing roads. It was just half an hour to Chateau de la Hudaunaye - what a strange name and no idea now to pronounce it - but that left us just an hour to look around before closing. Yet again, another picturesque ruin in a gorgeous setting, at an intersection of two rural lanes surrounded by a bit of ...

... to give way at small intersections but approaching with caution has been our rule of thumb. By the time we worked ourselves out and had a bit of lunch, Luke, Kate and the kids were arriving in their boat. We spent the remainder of the day driving as far south as we could arriving at a camping ground where Kate and I pointed at the semi English tariff sheet and tested what little French we ...
