Today started much like yesterday - beautiful blue sky and a perfect 27 degrees. Mr S popped out to get us petit dejeuner (breakfast) - some fruit from across the road and a croissant for himself. We have our new friend Marijke and fortune to thank as we find ourselves ensconced in the little seaside village of La Ciotat. When planning this part of our journey we knew we wanted to spend some time in the South of France but weren't sure where. ... is decorated with modern art. I climbed the bell tower which had a panoramic view of the city, you could also walk the guard paths around the perimeter of the fort. It was then time to walk back.

I ventured about 100 meters into the shopping district to get a phone sim card and a collector pin and some dinner and then headed back to the Hostel. I didn’t feel safe going any further into the shopping district, there was a film of smog lingering ...
