      The countdown is on! Next week on Thursday (Ascension Day) I will leave for Switzerland, where I'll be visiting friends whom I haven't seen for some years.       ... occupants lived in the back annex of an office building, hoping against hope that the Nazis would not discover them. I cannot imagine being cooped up inside for that long.       ... last thing you wanted or even could do is just this. The plane was set to have a regulatory tankstop in Istanbul. Approaching Istanbul it turned out there was heavy fog and Istanbul airport wasn't able to receive the plane (lack of technical equipment) so we had to make a detour to Izmir, which was actually back again.       ... and cost more than a straight house. The canals are man made in the 17th century, and are 3m deep. Houseboats look really old, but inside they're awesome, and quite modern. They're just like houses in terms of services, and they never move, only for maintenance.
