... but when that wind blows it is truly freezing! . Whaling. We could not believe there was whale on the menu! Apparently Norway ( mostly Northern Norway) is one of the only countries to commercially catch whales! For such an ethical country we were shocked. It's the minke whale on the menu, which we were told is plentiful here. No way! . 24 hours of daylight! It plays havoc with your biorhythms, you want to stay up really late, then the next day you feel like you are ...

As it turns out the lady was absolutely correct, I was the only person on the mountain and the steep icy conditions made it somewhat dangerous to climb and after 2 very sweaty, injury prone hours and 500m of almost vertical climbing I was in a ...

... jammed packed with old, smelly stuff. No, it did look interesting but in the end I ran out of time.

Back on the boat we had a late dinner. I know I keep talking about food but some of it is really special. Last night I skipped dinner because I hadn't done much walking and wasn't very hungry. Plus it was a reindeer feast which I really couldn't stomach again. Tonight was superb. Entree was a Potato and Leek soup which had some herb ...
