      ... out, we were on our way. Norway has beautiful countryside. The mountains in some areas are snow covered, the slopes are green, the wildflowers are stunning! As we traveled Vivian told us the story of Peer Gynt, and then she played some selections from the suite over the bus' sound system. Later she talked about the region and its history.       ... s been recently restored and the furnishings are true to the period. We had another plated meal (this time it was lamb, mashed potatoes, and carrots with a brownie for dessert. When we were finished, we were invited to check out the hotel's rooms, even the guest rooms upstairs (as long as the doors were open). We got back to the hotel at around 4 p.m. and Gary and I took a walk near the hotel prior to dinner.

      ... no choice) salmon, boiled potatoes with a cucumber salad. Dessert was a very small crepe like pancake with a little dollop of a berry flavored cream.

      We were free for a couple of hours this afternoon. Gary and I checked out the hotel services--the facility is quite beautiful with both and indoor and outdoor pool, hot tub, spa, exercise equipment, etc. ...

      ... Shortly afterwards, we stopped for a photo op where we could view a glacier called B°yabreen. We weren't very close but it's hard not to be impressed.

      We arrived at our hotel at around 6 and gathered for dinner at about 7:15. Tonight was a buffet; everything I tasted was very good but I have a tendency to eat a plate of salad and vegetables first because we get so few of them here.

      ... as the snow melts in April and/or May, big chunks fall into the water and cause tsunami like conditions. But then again, the ice cream from these dairy farmers is something not to be missed...I think there's extra fat in it. After the above mentioned ice cream we took a local bus up to Dalsnibba and Flydalsjuvet, about 1500 meters above sea level, on a road with an infinite number of hairpin turns and then got to play in the snow after capturing an astonishing view ...
