... 8 hours. There were probably more than 150 people taking this excursion, 4 big buses - one English, one Norwegian, one German, and one French. Nice Mercedez buses, clean and quite new. Our guide, Peter, was from Hungary, but spoke English quite well. The bus driver was local, but spoke English better than Peter. He just be a very experienced driver, as the big bus had to navigate very narrow mountain roads with hair-pin turns. The scenery was beautiful. We stopped ...

... s been recently restored and the furnishings are true to the period. We had another plated meal (this time it was lamb, mashed potatoes, and carrots with a brownie for dessert. When we were finished, we were invited to check out the hotel's rooms, even the guest rooms upstairs (as long as the doors were open). We got back to the hotel at around 4 p.m. and Gary and I took a walk near the hotel prior to dinner.

... no choice) salmon, boiled potatoes with a cucumber salad. Dessert was a very small crepe like pancake with a little dollop of a berry flavored cream.

We were free for a couple of hours this afternoon. Gary and I checked out the hotel services--the facility is quite beautiful with both and indoor and outdoor pool, hot tub, spa, exercise equipment, etc. ...

... Shortly afterwards, we stopped for a photo op where we could view a glacier called B°yabreen. We weren't very close but it's hard not to be impressed.

We arrived at our hotel at around 6 and gathered for dinner at about 7:15. Tonight was a buffet; everything I tasted was very good but I have a tendency to eat a plate of salad and vegetables first because we get so few of them here.

... and the surrounds with hoards of other tourists. First stop at this point was the Eagle Road with many hairpin bends that took us to a lovely lookout over the ship, Geiranger town and the famous 'Seven Sisters' waterfall (15 minute break only, lucky for us as i was busting for the loo, too much free juice and coffee for me!). Next stop was a giant gorge splitting the mountain in half, another view over Geiranger and the fjord. And toilets, ...
