    Geiranger fjord is a World Heritage site and is one of Norway's most beautiful fjords. Today our ferry cruised the fjord from the town of Alesund to the town of Geiranger and back again so we were able to enjoy the spectacular scenery twice.

    ... s been recently restored and the furnishings are true to the period. We had another plated meal (this time it was lamb, mashed potatoes, and carrots with a brownie for dessert. When we were finished, we were invited to check out the hotel's rooms, even the guest rooms upstairs (as long as the doors were open). We got back to the hotel at around 4 p.m. and Gary and I took a walk near the hotel prior to dinner.

    ... no choice) salmon, boiled potatoes with a cucumber salad. Dessert was a very small crepe like pancake with a little dollop of a berry flavored cream.

    ... Shortly afterwards, we stopped for a photo op where we could view a glacier called B°yabreen. We weren't very close but it's hard not to be impressed.

    We arrived at our hotel at around 6 and gathered for dinner at about 7:15. Tonight was a buffet; everything I tasted was very good but I have a tendency to eat a plate of salad and vegetables first because we get so few of them here.

    ... in winter this place is a serious avalanche risk... With this occurring regularly throughout history wiping out families and farms. We only got a measly 15 minutes at the top however it was a blessing in disguise as it was just so freaking cold!
