I started this journey from home at 10:15 am, being picked up by the Act II shuttle. After picking up another traveler, we headed for O'Hare airport, arriving about 2:30 pm. That trip and check-in were uneventful. Since my flight wasn't scheduled to leave until 6:20, I walked the concourses for a while, had a snack, then ...

We've turned back across the Mississippi to Hampton, Illinois to spend the night at a delightful county-supported recreational facility. With our senior discount, we paid $16 for the pleasure of watching the river flow by our front door. We watched an Imax movie called the Last Reef then picked up some groceries and had a nice homemade dinner on the Mississippi!
Got up this morning ready for our next leg of the journey. We should end up somewhere near ...

... was to only travel 3-5 hours per day. We rolled into Warren Dunes Park at 4:30pm. We again set up camp, checked out the beach and went to get some pizza to bring back to enjoy on the dunes.
The dunes were spectacular! We all ran up to the top, Carson seemed to fly up them, whereas Tim and I got the workout of the day! Carson and Tim went for a quick refreshing dip and I waited on the shore with Xena Girl. Time for bed...

That night we got to enjoy the most ...

... on some of them and we both had to climb up on the very large harvester and sit in the cab. What fun!

In Bettendorf we rode down Main Street and that’s about all we saw. It was not one of the more interesting cities and it was the smallest of the four.

We ended up on Rock Island where we drove through Rock Island Arsenal. There are National and Confederate cemeteries on this island. We saw an exhibit of large guns ...
