... 70 miles) stopping for shopping and then lunch at Lucon. We enjoyed a walk around the town and the cathedral and cloisters. We were not impressed with the town. Le Pin Parasol is a fantastic 5star campsite with excellent facilities and an impressive swimming pool complex with 80 metre slides - the longest in the vendee. ... A French couple came along and told us they had just seen a snake in the grass! So we thought it prudent to make a move, we had seen quite a few lizards sunning themselves, but no snakes. Once back at the van we watched more and more vans arrive until there were 13 of us overnight. The book said it would cost us 5 euros and someone would come to collect, but we never saw a soul.
