We started the day with a hot chocolate in Bohinjska Bistrica while the cloud cleared. We sat outside, the sun was lovely! Then we went hiking towards Črna prst (1844m). We didn't go to the summit as the track was hard to navigate. Instead we walked a lovely loop along the river, through beautiful green rolling hills, and past a waterfall. Mat was very fascinated with the rocks. ...

Clear blue skies and very cold! We got ready to ride then drove to find somewhere to park for the day. Not an easy task in a touristy town like this! Anyway, we found a spot about 5km away in Bohinjska Bela, en route to lake Bohinj. We took Mats "short cut", aka wet, gravel, muddy, soggy autumn leaves, steep gradient.. ... there is no road and therefore no traffic and more peaceful. It was the most stunning place I can remember visiting, in spite of the less than perfect weather. Utterly amazing in fact. We had another lovely meal in the hotel and the service was excellent. The waiter (who I suspect is the owner) remembered us, our room number, the drinks we like etc and that made all the ...

We woke this morning to some light rain outside and general gloom around the ski slopes of Arabba. This was pretty much as per the forecast so nothing to get too glum about. The breakfast at Hotel Olympia was fab and really set us up for the day. I really can't recommend this place enough. A double room, half board (with an outstanding multi course evening meal), 2 beers and 2 coffees came to €102 including the city tax. ...
