... I are huge champagne fans but we figured if we were going to do it anywhere it should be in Epernay and we were very glad that we did. The variety of the different styles of champagne and how they matched each course was very interesting and we never realized that champagne could have such a wide range and could stand up to intense French food like Coq au Vin and Fois Gras. Overall it was an excellent meal and it just reinforced the fact that ...

... amp; rainy. We passed a big ski resort Valberg. Once over the top the Italian route down was narrow and it seems they're not so keen on edging the road! It was thick cloud and visibility was pretty poor! We made it down in one piece, phew! Don't think we'll do it again in a hurry! We drove on for around 30km to get to our next site 'il Melo' a Bonny spot on the outskirts of a little town. We're the only campers here, there are ...

... playing in the pool. The landscape here is really amazing - very hilly, but lots and lots of little hills. It would've been hard to defend this landscape - you can never see what's coming!! The soil around us seems to be mainly white clay - so a tilled plot looks almost like snow. Yesterday was my birthday and after leaving our beautiful Turin apartment we went and had coffee and Liam had cake, we just had ...

    Asti

A travel blog entry by sarahandthomas on Jun 30, 2014

From Pavia, we headed to Asti, Originally we were heading for a Vin Yard with the ability for an overnight stop with facilities (from our camperdstop book), sadly we got there and there was nothing so headed for our alternative Campeggio Cagnidi Asti - It was a predominately permanent vans but with a few touring pitches.

We didn't actually do anything here so nothing to report - Just a pin in the map.

... the life of Guido's cousin Orfeo who will be sadly missed.

Boys spent the afternoon tree surfing while Gran and I caught up on some washing, it always feels great when you have a case full of clean clothes when you are traveling.
Spritz in the local piazza with enough nibbles - that always accompany pre-dinner drinks- to feed a small family!! casual walk through town before selecting the nights dinner venue. So not looking forward to cooking when I get home!!
