La Spezia and Cinque Terre - Part One

A travel blog entry by tiggertravels on Sep 09, 2014

Had a decent night sleep. Europeans like their stiff beds. Can't wait to get home to my softer bed. Set the alarm for 6:30 am with full intention on catching the 7:55 am train to Monterosso, walk around the town a bit then hike to the next town Vernazza. At least that was the plan. Who was it that said "the best laid plans are meant to be followed …

... accommodation booked in La Spezia for the evening to make it easy for the bus pick up tomorrow. It was sad to say goodbye to Monterosso as the sun was out and it was a lovely day to be lying on the beach. On the train we got back out the La Spezia where we stayed in a hotel near the town centre. By coincidence the room we were place in was called Corniglia and was covered with photographs of the town. So we kinda feel like we saw the town ...

... quite awhile here, swimming and lying about on the rocks. We also had a close encounter with a jelly fish here, as the locals were pointing and yelling. We could not understand and Nicole thought it was a turtle. Nick was just swimming around like he didn't know what was going on. We both then saw the jelly fish and steered clear. We then hopped back on the train and visited Corniglia. We had to climb ...
