    Our tour then took us down the Uffizi Gallery to the Ponte Vecchio where we saw the oldest bridge in Florence. Then, back through the Uffizi Gallery and the town to the Piazza Santa Croce where we saw another beautiful church.

    This has been my favorite part of the trip so far.

    We arrived in La Spezia to a warm welcome from our airbnb host! Anna. While all of our airbnb hosts have been great, something about Anna made me feel like I was getting the authentic Italian experience. She welcomed us with open arms, fluttered around the apartment speaking Italian to show us all our amenities, and kissed us both on the cheeks as she said "Ciao".

    ... to my left, it's all Ligurian sea to my left with villages and tiered vineyards up the steep mountains to my right. Couldn't be better!!

    I can hear the waves lapping against the shore, there are a few seagulls and occasionally I can hear one of the swimmers far down below.
