Had a decent night sleep. Europeans like their stiff beds. Can't wait to get home to my softer bed. Set the alarm for 6:30 am with full intention on catching the 7:55 am train to Monterosso, walk around the town a bit then hike to the next town Vernazza. At least that was the plan. Who was it that said "the best laid plans are meant to be followed …

... infamous for boat crashes due to a rocky outcrop. She was placed there to protect the boats and seamen, a particularly beautiful monument of protection. We tied up in a quiet spot and enjoyed some champagne, cheese, salami, bread and pesto and enjoyed the sunset, then sailed back ino shore around 8.30. It made for one full and exciting day! What an amazing day this was. We headed to bed early and prepared for our next adventure..... ...

... we would never see these people again.

As we reached Riomaggiore we were so tired we had a gelato and took the ferry back to Monterosso, which was a great idea because 1) It was a beautiful day and the seas were calm, 2) The views of Cinque Terre from the sea were breathtaking, 3) A great way to spend 45 minutes sitting on top of a boat with my wife just enjoying the day. Too bad they didn’t serve ...
