... leads to the lake and a 30 metre long pebbled 'beach' with spectacular views of the town, lake and mountains. Back in town we go to the bakery to get some lunch. There were no meat pies at all but we got some panchetto, local soft cheese, fresh bread and a few pastries. This lunch looking out onto the lake and mountains was worth a million dollars. The amazing thing about this artwork is that during the second world war the entire building was destroyed in a bombing, except for the one wall with the painting on. They have now rebuilt around it and created a high tech temperature controlled room to keep it safe from decay.
