... by that I don't meet a new person, see a new bug or creature, learn a new lesson, learn more Spanish and am able to find bliss in the smallest of things. Struggles are a part of life, it is how you react and deal with them that sets the tone...and it is all a choice. I chose to enjoy each moment as it comes. I am thankful for this experience and I look forward to the next adventure...which starts everyone morning when I wake up.<br><br>Pura Vida!
Nosara, Guanacaste, Costa Rica sunmoongoddessWe started with a trip to the National Refugia nearby. Before we loaded the bikes we ran down the dirt raod to the national playa fro a quick visit. They have a campground here on the beach and even a place for trailers and campers. Lots of tenters here today but no evidence of any campers or trailers. Eguannas are everywhere here adding to the site. we stayed in a very nice little hotel that was brand new and owned by a ...
Tamarindo, Province of Guanacaste, Costa Rica tanjahvidI woke up earlier than i had wanted...Rain has been pouring down all night and morning. My body is starting to just be sore with all the scrapes and bruises, thankfully I have Labor day off, I will need it to rest my body...I may even take off tuesday if I feel ******. Im going to start getting my stuff ready for the trip and go eat some breakfast. We went out to ...
Tamarindo, Costa Rica albert413... price. In Nicoya it was a little less clear as to where the bus went from and at what time but with the help of some friendly locals we soon set out on the 3pm bus and an hour later arrived in paradise. Admittedly getting on this bus reminded us of rush hour on the tube in London; it was a serious bun fight and I was relived to find I didn't want to hit anyone with my backpack, a sure sign I've left the stresses of London behind. After being on the road for 9 hours we were ...
Playa Samara, Province of Guanacaste, Costa Rica gareth.alanna... but cloudy Samara less than an hour later. We did little else first day except take a walk along the beach and around the 3 or 4 streets in town, and hey we have rum and a tv - football time on the tele!! We managed to get about 3 hours of sunshine in Samara - enough time to easily burn myself. This place is supposed to have some fantastic sunsets - not for us though so I might photograph the photo in the guidebook and see if anybody notices !!!
Playa Samara, Costa Rica tartanbeatEntering Costa Rica is like "back to civilisation". Clean , the familiar US styled shopping centers and alike. Crossing the border into Costa Rica involved: - getting your car fumigated = 5$ - buying car insurance = 5$ per month you want to stay. maximum is 3 month. Looking back, i liked Nicaragua best of the real central american countrys.
Liberia, Costa Rica aleman... sea turtles arrive to make nests before disappearing back into the unknown. Our work with the turtles at Caletes had been during the off season so we had only seen maybe five or six actual turtles in the flesh. We were very eager to go see it and wcalled everyday to see if they had begun to arrive. The day before we left they had only had 140 odd turtles arrive which would be amazing on our beach but for them was nothing. So it was doubtful whether we would actually ...
Ostional, Costa Rica glassman... time I tried. The water feels and looks amazing, and the waves here are not too big (maybe 3-6 feet today) and have a gentle break which is great for beginners. I was very suprised that it wasn't croweded at all and we had plenty of space to ourselves. In fact, when we went back out after eating a late lunch at a cafe on the beach, we were two of four people in the water...it was excellent. We both decided about thirty minutes ago while sitting ...
Tamarindo, Province of Guanacaste, Costa Rica mdurham1... really well. Yesterday we left the mountains and took a five hour bus ride to the coast and the little town of Samara Beach. The town is really small and undeveloped and the beach is amazing. It fronts the Pacific Ocean which is about 85 degrees here...so warm. The beachfront has a lot of little bungalows and a few restaurants and bars but it is not really touristy yet compared to other beaches in Costa Rica. We ...
