... bearings and feel comfortable with a place we go to the next one - but also because I was not finding many like minded people on the trip with whom to have discussions with. Although Angus and I are very similar in many aspects, we have a lot of differences, which are hard to overcome when we are both so passionate about what we believe (and both slightly stubborn :P). We also realised as I sat on the edge of the train, that although Angus went on this trip to become independent ...
Helsingør, Denmark reneedm... us leave. Untill we talked to the train station ticket operator. We waited for what seemed a zear, but in the end we got tickets that were 50% off, luckz in our own rights. We shook the cashiers hand, and thanked him for taking his time to find us the cheapest tickets he could, something that rarelz happens. ANd boarded the train. In the next 8 hours , we would have to make 4 transfers. What an adventure...
Copenhagen, Zealand, Denmark dhrycun... time in Denmark, which was great. We then went up to the famous Kronborg Slot, which is supposedly where Shakespeare's Hamlet is set (although Shakespeare never set foot in Denmark). It is not as beautiful a castle as the one in Hillerod, but it is much more practical. Situated on a hill overlooking the narrow straight to Sweden (which is less than a kilometre away), Kronborg Slot is an imposing military fortress, which could obviously be well defended. It is equipped with a ...
Helsingør, Zealand, Denmark tom_white_5588...Do I really need to say anything? We were only there for 12 hours. The people are incapable of smiling and everything is rediculously expensive. We went to Tivoli gardens (theme park) which was really cool... but that seems to be the only good thing about this cronicly boring city, and country... and we had to practically pledge our first born child to get in. I guess the flatness doesnt just describe the geography. xxx
Copenhagen, Zealand, Denmark davidjudge... separated themselves from the rest of the city with a wall and created their own community with their own rules, their own stamps, and live in peace and harmony in their hand crafted homes with their hand crafted hash. The Danish believe this community is stuck in the 60's. The highlight of our visit here was by far the live performance we caught on video in the central square, of an intoxicated homeless person dancing from the ...

Copenhagen, Denmark szbQ: Why would the Swedes go to Denmark? A: To buy alcohol! Q: Why would the Danes go to Sweden? A: To buy cigarettes! Who would have though - especially those of us who live in Australia - that you would actually go to a different country in the morning just to buy a few bottles of booze, and come in back in the afternoon to drink them ...
Helsingør, Denmark cpiottothe train ride from Hamburg to Copenhagen was so cool. at one point the train rides onto a ferry, you take a ferry across the water, then get back in the train and it keeps on going. Copenhagen is an island and on our trek through Denmark we went over several bridges with some very pretty scenery. we got to Copenhagen around 6:15 P.M. on Monday and decided to go to Tivoli, a permanent amusement park like Great America or Six Flags ...
Copenhagen, Denmark bradentaylor84... into some of the most expensive apartments in Denmark. And just along from there, we saw some old run down boat sheds that had been used to make arms for the warships and they open into the water.. they are now the most expensive apartments in Denmark at 10 million Krona each! Which is about 1 million GBP.. There are lots and lots of house boats along the canals as well and some of them were incredibly fancy while others were very run down. Got to see ...
Copenhagen, Denmark chelbynz... one more day, which will give us more time in Cairo to try our haggling skills, of which I have zero! I have worked in sales before, but was never much of a deal maker. I will probably pay what they want and my shirt too. Thats what I am looking forward too for today, wish me luck.
