... lle för pengarna fast trapporna är som i lustiga huset på Gröna Lund, vi bor på tredje våningen och det finns ingen hiss… Vi åt himmelskt god mat på en närliggande restaurang, bland den godaste maten vi ätit i Asien, hade vi inte trott om Myanmar inte!

Första dagen lyckades vi försova oss, vaknade kl 12 först, fast sånt gör ju inte så mycket när man ska vara borta så länge som vi. Till slut kom vi i alla fall ut, åt lunch och ...

... bekamen wir regelrechte Lachkraempfe, mit Atemnot und Traenen in den Augen ... nach ein paar Std. hatte sich das eher in Verzweiflung und Schmerzen umgewandelt, ja man war sogar genervt.

Anbei ein kurzes Gedicht, welches mir aus purer Verzweiflung nur so aus dem Mund sprudelte:

Ein Drittel der Strecke sind getan,
was ne Fahrt, der helle Wahn !
Wir oeffnen den Kopf der Singa Beer Dose,
sonst mach ich mir spaeter "for sure" in die Hose ...

... with buses coming by and, with the help of a monk and another kind soul, found a bus that took me back to Motherland, where I walked down the road to a local eatery for a bowl of rice and some vegetables, with plenty of green tea.

So at last I’d seen the real paya that was so incredibly detailed in my Uncle George’s tiny notebook, where a Japanese officer and doctor, had beautifully drawn this special place, during the war ...

The hostel ran like clockwork. An inclusive breakfast of eggs, bananas, juice, coffee and cake, with everything (including the bread) baked in the kitchen. The staff here are exceptional, with endless information and help. Bus tickets, telephone bookings for accommodation in other towns, storage of items for duration of trip etc all seem to be ...
