Well, as I will no doubt be running round like a mad woman tomorrow I thought it best to start this today! My last full day at home for some time. I am packed and ready to go!!
I am very nervous and cant really think of anything beyond tonight at the ...
This is just to get the ball rolling as it were.
Our aim is to have a life laundry over the next few months. Plan our year long trip through Europe. Sell or pass on to others things we need. Buy and equip a motor home. Produce a photo/video documentary of the trip.
Well I am happy to report that despite postal strikes I have my passport back and a multiple entry visa stamp inside.
I was so relieved to have the passport back.I really do not like to be parted from it.
All I have to do now is get through the next 4 weeks at work.Oh well I am sure I will manage.
Bye for now.
... For reasons that are still unclear, this absolutely failed to happen and it wasn't until the early hours of the morning, around 0500 or 0600H, that Dougie arrived back at the house and the saga of his night began to unfold. Let's face it, the details are still a bit sketchy but Doug's best recollection goes like this: "I ****ed off to that other pub down the road and then ran out of money, so I decided to go home, and then, for some reason, I wound up at the chippy with enough Chinese ...

Chester, England, United Kingdom edandali... before exploring the inside of the beautiful Chester Cathedral (dating back to the 1500's). Final stop was Chester Museum for an array of Roman relics and a bit more insight into Chester's past. Then we headed for home. I've caught a cold, so am feeling a bit muggy-headed. Hopefully I won't pass it on to anyone else but it has been great being able to relax for a few days with family. Simon's cooking spaghetti bolognaise for tea - yum! Love Ness
Liverpool, United Kingdom vanessa82... 11pm for a 4:30am flight. The never ending day blurred into a 6am landing in Krakow, Poland. With hours to spare, we hiked with our heavy backpacks and tired bodies to a nearby little village with less than a dozen houses. So maybe it wasn't a true impression of the country but I wanted to see more than just the walls of the ...
Liverpool, United Kingdom jilliangwen... or at least to attempt to!) The one place I did get a phrase book for was Japan as I am most worried about the language barrier here. I got the Collins Japanese phrase book & dictionary which has useful phrases, a little dictionary, and also photoguides to signs and food. It has words written in both Japanese and Roman. I also got some useful phrases for vegetarians from The International Vegetarian Union.
Liverpool, United Kingdom amycmJohn took me to Blackpool. He may have wanted to show me a UK beach resort. The street along the beach was full of decorations. I took a picture of his profile in the car. It was just a memory of Blackpool. We were on the way from Preston, where we met his old friend, and John talked about the word "love", because people there used "love" meaning "you" very often, when they talk to someone, like "Good morning, love!". That sounded awkward to him.
