One night in Daveyton
... the outside loo, (i have seen them before), it was the fact that the dog had decided to have puppies right next to the toilet and every time you went to the loo the dog would growl the whole time, very off putting when all you hear is a growling dog and cannot see it whilst doing your business.
Anyway that finishes off my stay in Benoni, now heading off to the game reserve for three weeks.

Finally Made It
... Baltimore moment while driving when we saw someone looking for a 'hack cab' using the two finger swipe motion so often seen at home. Honestly we could have been on Fayette St and not know the difference. our hotel is better than expected though quite small. The staff is friendly and already on a first name basis. It ain't so bad
... people. We also were able to try some pretty unique foods, particularly mapawni worms, which I had heard much about, and crocodile. The mapawni worms were dried and pretty salty. I had talked the big talk about how I would certainly try one if the opportunity arose, so as soon as Gabbi heard the word, she basically shoved me into the basket of worms, and I had no choice but to hold out my hand. It was fine; I survived.

Joburg first day
... the gardens for a while and had a bite to eat and a beer. One beer made me a little tipsy, again, embarrassing, but the effects wore off soon enough. We did have a nice chat, funny how quickly strangers become friends.
Afterwards, he took me to the big water source which offered panoramic views of Joburg. Amazing!

Did Someone Say Road Trip
... the owner of the lodge we're staying at, told me over the phone that the drive to Nelspruit and then to Hazyview will be taxing on us.
