We had dinner at the hotel restaurant. The menu was extensive and it was really good to get stuck into some traditional Thai dishes. We also took advantage of their happy hour - not like us at all!

We read on the net that Chiang Rai had experienced a few small (2.4 on richter scale) earthquakes today. No more of these while we are here thanks.

Saying Goodbye is Always Hard

That night was the farewell Dinner. It was so sad saying goodbye to all the professors and our buddies that have made this experience unforgettable. It was a great trip thanks to these people. The airport was the worst tho. Saying goodbye for good was hard. I wish I never had to leave this beautiful country. Now spending the next 22 hours flying in the air. Till next time Thailand.......

... invited in to watch them - and here we thought we were done with all the bowing... We went a little ways further down the road to steps leading down to the Mekong River and we released a paper lantern with Taeng. This time, the wind was perfect and though it was a much bigger one, it had no problems floating up into the air. After finally getting into the van for the last time, our guide passed out some sweet rice cakes she had bought for us and we headed back to Chiang Rai. ...
