Just a short entry to say that we arrived in Barbados yesterday morning (9th December) after approx 24 days crossing the Atlantic. Weather was a bit of a mix with some good winds mid trip and also for the last couple of days with some very light winds and even calms at times. Not much marine life sighted on the way over. ... stop along the road. The bus arrived after a short while, we then realised we hadn’t timed this very well. It was just before 4pm and the bus was packed with school kids and I mean packed. We could only just get on. I was fully expecting Claire to refuse to get on, either it was the thought of a very long walk or she was extra brave today having already faced being underground in the cave.

After dumping our bags I was choking for a beer by this time. We had an hour until life-boat drill so we decided to go to the Lido Bar, at the stern of the ship, and sit in the Caribbean sun enjoying a freezing cold beer. :-) It really was very pleasant sitting there in the sun, trying to shake off that slightly disoriented feeling that you have after a long-haul flight.

He described our day as being divided into thirds: we'd cruise to a small, private beach for a swim or anything of our leisure, continue on to an area for snorkeling and then move on to swimming with sea turtles.
