We will post trip information here as soon as it starts. For 2010, we will continue planning the project and look for Sponsors that are willing to invest and support the Project. All indications in that regard is ...

Leaving Lake Tahoe and California

Viel Spass.

Funtime at the Fun Farm

... a membership. It's just across the OR/CA border (less than an hour from Sami's) and has stables and riding trails, as well as, RV campsites, pools and clubhouses, etc. Unfortunately, neither one of the two camping areas are real close to the stables and the one that's right next to the Klamath River is over six miles away. Nevertheless, it's a fun place.

Finally, after about six weeks of fun with great people, we hit the road headed south into CA.

catch up time

... We walked around for a bit at Portland - not a whole lot there either. Decided not to stay there cos we had some time to make up so we kept driving - said we'd stop at 7pm wherever we were haha. So we ended up staying at a super 8 at Creswell about an hour south of Salem. The guy at the front desk was hilarious - he loved our accents so just kept on ...

Ashland

We stopped in Ashland close to dusk.

I drove through the center strip by SOU.

We stopped in downtown and walked.

We went to the theater to see if a play was happening that night.

We went to sushi, it was not very good.

We took the very difficult 101 highway to Klamath Falls during a dark night.

... us. Overall the locals are very nice everywhere we went and appreciated our business. The ex-pats were a mixed bag some nice, some not so much. Other tourists were a hoot! We would run into allot of the same people everywhere we went. The buses always ran on time and were readily available for the most part. If one is full wait 15-30 min. for the next one. If I hear another "Shaggy" song I'll rip my hair out! This is why ipods are a great part of the travel gear.

Getting ready to go!

... he will have scouted out some stuff we ought to check out. We fly out of Belize on March 4th to Denver, spend another night with our girls then fly to Sacramento on the 5th. I have never kept a journal of any kind before so we will see how I do..... Now that our itinerary is laid out I can say that it is cold here at home with ice on the car window each morning. However, the days have been sunny and nice. But not so nice we won't be lovin' Belize in a couple weeks!

Home again

... way to Phoenix, OR. As a matter of fact, it is still raining. We are happy to be back because of the drive we take to end our vacation, but our heart and mind is still in Arizona. Come on June 30th!!!! Dale's retirement day. Thank you all for following our 5 weeks of travels. We had the most wonderful vacation and can't wait for our "eternal" vacation! There is something to say about getting this old!

Travel day or NOT?

... used in the context of people heading south for the winter. After our first month in Arizona in 2006, I wondered why anyone would want to leave all that sunshine and blue sky for a true winter in the mountains! Yet, here we sit. In the snow, waiting to see if the "chains required" rule is lifted for the Siskiyous and beyond Mt. Shasta. We can hope!

Oregon Coast

... After Bandon we traveled farther down the coastline to more isolated beaches and redwood forests. Marshall ate something-she thinks it was smoked salmon-that made her quite sick for three days, so it was a quiet time for her. I just read about the Western water problems (more on that later) and took photos. I even took photos of lighthouses, which was deemed inappropriate at the Maine Photographic Workshops. My photo buddy Dave Martin used to deride and embarrass me whenever I took a ...
