As it turns out we had a slight change of heart realising how far the drive to Hannover could be, so we headed to Falsterbo and its white sandy beaches for a couple of nights, and we picked up mascot number 2 on the way - Bjorn the Moose.

Wandered down to the beach for a family dip in the evening, avoiding the jelly fish as we went. Beautiful.

Drove on through now gently rolling countryside with billowy soft green trees and the constantly reappearing sea, passing through lovely villages with medieval water towers, the ubiquitous white or brick churches, stopping for a beer in ...

The rain forecast for the day was promised to commence around 12:00 so we decided to spend the morning, after a lazy start, walking the beach and doing a little shopping. It was galling to hear over the radio that the UK was bathed in warm sunshine but hopefully our overcast and dull conditions with worse to come are only a hiccup in an otherwise bright week – we shall see. It was very peaceful and quiet on the beach, with the ...
