A Day at the beach

... for the most part we had a nice chat. Plus their accents are very different! I spent the whole day on the beach, swimming and snoozing in the shade. I had a late lunch of seafood and pasta. And for dinner went to a local place and had empanadas and yucca chips. Then went back to the hotel to chill out and pack ready for going to Santo Domingo tomorrow ...

... of the village and a turtle sanctuary. On our way back to Bayahibe unfortunately the weather started to turn a bit but we still stopped off at the natural pool to see some starfish. On the last stretch back to Bayahibe we had another snack of cake, coconut and melon.

The tour was a lot better than I thought it'd be, mainly as we were a small group and we hardly saw any other tours, plus they kept constantly feeding us!

As I was leaving Guaymate, I walked past a friendly guy at a colmado who I regularly see on my way to the guagua and usually say a quick hello to. He said I always walk so quickly (even though I am walking very slowly for me - Dominicans really do dawdle everywhere!) and he gave me a lollipop for the journey! ... end of the day, was amazing. It was a restaurant that only allows adults that are 19 years and older. So thank God we were above that age or else we wouldn't have been able to enter. But I really recommended this restaurant. The food was amazing and the environment was really nice.

Now, going to bed and waiting to leave tomorrow. :(

... that we have gambling problems. Joel would sensibly take half our chips and cash them in so we wouldn’t just blow it all. Then we would swarm him, snatching money out of his pockets. I am happy to report that after 4 days, I came out on top. Not by much, but definitely not behind.

Our favourite bar featured karaoke after eleven. I have said it before and I’ll say it again, I cannot sing ...
