I met Will at breakfast in the Citic Hotel on Tuesday morning and we went out to Ningbo Foreign Language School, which is one of my centres. The school is built in an amazing location in the south-east of Ningbo, surrounded by mountains and with a beautiful lake on site.

The staff here are all lovely. I had only been to this centre once before with Liz and Mary ...

I am not one of those ignorant Americans that think that everybody should speak English, but it would be nice if SOMEONE could speak English. He called somebody up who I could speak to and I decided to sign up. The thought that maybe one thing could be easy for me quickly faded away when they told me that my ...

... and is a really cool area in Ningbo, and is also pretty westernized. Alex and I found a Starbucks and we both lit up like Christmas trees. As we sat and drank our lattes, we both sighed a big sigh of relief. Finally, something familiar and comfortable. We continued to walk around the area and saw some foreigners and many pubs and restaurants. We both agreed that one of these days we have to go do karaoke. During our journey, Alex and I were continuously frightened by ...
