bittersweet times as we touch the bases on our last two days here. Sunday we drove south to Gennadi, our favorite pebble beach, for a long swim and fish lunch just before the wind came up. Then off to the hills: visited the village of Asklepion for coffee and a church tour with our airport cab driver, Manoli (Mike) Hatz, one of many second-generation Greek-Canadians who have moved back to this lovely village. From there, we took a gravel ...

Leaving Turkey was fairly routine but when we arrived in Rhodes I had to stand in the "ALL PASSPORT" line while all of the EU passport holders were streaming through the other ...

I took the bus back to Rhodes town today where I was to then find my way to my couch surfing hosts Larissa and Victors house in ialisos the coach however had a small issue with the doors where I was sitting. It seemed that there was an air lock or bubble and as we sped down the dual carriageway they kept opening and closing on their own. In the end after about 5 miles the driver pulled over reset them and off we went again. ...

Wednesday. First stop Mykonos. A classic blue and white town with narrow streets and alleys. Typical Mediterranean waterfront with dozens of cafes with patios. Drinking coffee or beer appears to be a national pastime. So we joined in! Alleyways off every street, but easy to get your bearings - just head for the water. Clean, with very friendly people. Just a nice walking town. Back to the ship in the p.m., mud soak for my feet in the Spa (with the ...
