Living the Dream in Tioman Islands

... he could hold his breath long enough to go underwater and pick up some interesting creatures for us to see (sea urchin, a Nemo fish and a sea cucumber). We spent that night relaxing at the resort again (I just love duty free).

The next day was yet another day relaxing on the beach but in my defense, I must say that I spent a solid 40 minutes reading from my inorganic textbook. So that's 40 minutes out of three days spent studying; it's an honest attempt, no?

... then heading out of town slightly we visited the Batu Caves, an area of 3 caves holding Hindu shrines and we could observe the Indian culture. We spent the evenings in China Town and Little India where we could eat fantastic food and soak in the buzz of the markets.

My final stop in Malaysia was the pretty little town of Melaka. After the city it was a restful place with a lot character and history. First ruled by the Chinese it was then taken ...

Malaysian Life

... Hat Yai (This is where I got a text about Jacko dying) I soon spread the word on a international level. When I got on the bus I was so happy as heard 2 northern girls talking so had to approach as only met 2 so far, they were lovely & were from Leeds so spent my journey with them. Had to do a border crossing & how many times we had to get off the bus to be searched was a joke- note to self never sit at the front of the bus as your a ideal target to get ...

... arrived safely. Apparently the area is known for its sharks - mmmm. Oh and they knew Huge and his ex from the 3 crowns, and they basically go to all the places we went to in stokey - hmm I think had been stalking us before we even met. Also it was a bit cringe worthy meeting a couple on their first day of their honeymoon and having so much in common. They ...

After an hour, as darkness set in, and seeing nothing but bats, Malwina and I went to sleep. We fell asleep tp the sounds of the jungle, many different kinds of birds, bugs, and al sorts of things made up a medley of noices ...

... and I spent the day touring a few with a couple from France who have been travelling for longer than I could ever manage, something like 3 and a half years. One of the plantations has a tea room that litearlly extends over the fields of tea plants. The Highlands also provided me several hours of jungle trekking, and because it was a bit rainy, I spent a lot of time on my hands and knees crawling up steep muddy slopes.

Jungle Railway

I was beginning to worry how I was going to find the hotel I found in my guidebook, when this European couple got on the bus. After a couple of minutes of nervous deliberation, i got up and asked them if they were staying in Tanah Rata. They said yes, at the Hillview. (one of the hotels I was looking at) I asked if I could follow them, Gary and ...

To understand how much Rachel likes fruit, this is equivalent to me being given two pints of Hagen Daas Cookies and Cream Ice cream in a welcome basket.
