We started the day with a hot chocolate in Bohinjska Bistrica while the cloud cleared. We sat outside, the sun was lovely! Then we went hiking towards Črna prst (1844m). We didn't go to the summit as the track was hard to navigate. Instead we walked a lovely loop along the river, through beautiful green rolling hills, and past a waterfall. locals. In those places I had some very good regional cuisine. I ate two

to do pizza, pasta, and other Italian food well. Much of the pizza and pasta I
had in the Balkans, especially Croatia, was quite poor, but in Italy they know
how to serve their pasta al dente and their pizza thin and crisp.

five or six shots worth….on the house! One was a sweet berry flavored liqueur
while the other was an incredibly bitter black herbal liqueur that tasted like
a Jagermeister gone wrong, like they forgot to sweeten it up with some sugar.
The very friendly waitress insisted it was a regular rakija (brandy) that was
flavored with only a single ...

The Parish Church of Saint George is especially well endowed with works of art, including a statue of crucified Christ that’s considered one of the most important works of Slovenian medieval art.

Some final thoughts on our road trip to Slovenia, Bosnia and Croatia. The people have been so friendly and outgoing toward us. They are building their economy around tourism and I think it is working for them. The food has been fabulous for ...
