... mountains. The water of the Soca River is bright turquoise and absolutely beautiful! The town we are in tonight, Bovec, is very small. The apartment is nothing to get excited about, but it's only 1 night and it's relatively inexpensive! We have loved every minute of our travels in Slovenia. Tomorrow we will drive through the country's only national park, which has 50 hairpin turns...something tells me that will be both exciting and ...

Another amazing day, stifling hot yet again, spent morning in Sorrento with time on our own after tour of factory which hand makes wooden furniture with lace work or paintings lacquered over on tops. ... bus along some winding roads up into the hills - while avoiding the on-coming cars when things got narrow. We also saw our first pair of nesting storks on the drive, so my passengers raised quite the cry as they sought out their cameras - fortunately we were stuck at a light for a construction zone, so I think everyone got their picture. We were on this road for quite a while, so Sam started asking where the castle could be, since it was not visible on ...

... off to find a restaurant and eventually settled on Japanese, of all things! The food was plentiful and excellent. Best meal I've had in quite a while! After dinner we walked down to what is billed as "the largest town square in Europe ". Admittedly it's pretty big. Very impressive! Lit up of an evening it looks fabulous. Also very clean and no hawkers! Took some photos and then walked back to our apartments for the night. Tomorrow- ...
