      ... down the ice cream in less than 3 Minutes. As the sun slowly went down, we went back to the restaurant which , was to hot to sit in 40 min. earlier. After drinking a couple of bottles of cold water, and having the sun go behind the wall, all of us were finally cooling down.       ... wanted to try the grilled octopus, and it was surprisingly good. Here is a picture of the tentacle.

      We enjoyed the little pool on our sun deck every afternoon. It was very warm and unexpectedly deep - a really nice way to end every day. The villas we stayed at had individual pools with each unit instead of one large shared pool.

      ... We decided to return to the hotel and sleep at the bench. Fortunately the guests checked out from the room by then and they were so nice to clean our room first so we managed to check in by about 10:30 and slept till almost sunset. Cost of food It is quite expensive to dine in the restaurants in Oia so we decided to buy some food from the supermarket and cook in the house.       ... turquoise blue water lapping up to its edges and had charcoal and greyish sand granules and came with a bunch of bars and cafes. This place was heaven and we swam in the Aegean Sea and rolled about in the black sand (due to its mineral qualities). Basically we were as happy as a pig in s**t.

      As hard as it was dragging ourselves away from the cliffs, it was equally as hard dragging ourselves away from the beach. But, we still had more to see, so we peeled ourselves ...

      ... and then queue for the cable car or the donkeys to take them to the rim of the caldera where many go into a spending frenzy in their limited time ashore. Alternatively, they are loaded onto coaches and transported along the tiny roads in their hundreds to Oia to watch the sunset.
