... the place on this little island. The sleek, modern university made for a great conference site, and it was interesting to see how it was organized in a series of indoor/outdoor spaces to take advantage of the rainforest climate. E enjoyed the warm weather in a different way--back at the hotel pool, where she worked on her own research...not a bad deal if one must study!

The proprietor had graciously 'reduced' the final bill down to about $2200 and cut his own markup to 3%, but even still, this was way over our budget for spares. Despite our protests he was unwilling to accept any return and as we were leaving the next day we were forced to suck up a $1500 rip-off from the Australian supplier. Lesson learned: Get a quote FIRST even when you're in a hurry. We will no longer order parts of any kind ...
