Xi'an, Shaanxi, China hammerboy... jsme museli zakoupit vstupenku do chramove komplexu okolo pagody (Y25), ale na pagodu nas s touto vstupenkou odmitli pustit a museli jsme zakoupit dalsi (Y20).
Ugrilovani jsme se vratili do hostelu, kde prave probihala grilovaci party. Hostel byl plny priopilych turistu. Take jsme na chvili zavitali do mistniho baru (aby jsme si mohli vyzvednout free welcome beer, ktery hostel nabizi kazdemu nove prichozimu) a zahrali si sipky, ktere vyhrala Adela.
... is where the Chinese food that we all know comes from and it is everywhere and so cheap. When I left Guangzhou city I promised myself no more snacks so the last few days I have tried to stay away from food but it has been an impossible task because everywhere I've walked, on all street corners, at all sites there were hundreds, thousands and in some places billions of tempting ...
Xian, China eddakath... and the cube and a few other buildings, and spent quite a bit of time posing for silly photos, and then made our way back to the bus stop. The next day we got up and got onto a tour bus at 6am, to take us the a hiking spot on the Great Wall of China... I think we chose wisely, because I've heard people say that it was really crowded on the wall, but we barely saw anyone... it was a little bit of a challenging walk, but nowhere near as hard as I ...
Xi'an, Shaanxi, China you_know_zo... would have to be insane to do such a thing. But then again I doubt those whom live in the more affluent societies here in China, such as Shenzen and Shanghai would hang their clothes outside either. Money breeds greed and it also attracts those who 'want' or are drawn to both. Sadly the more western China becomes the less clothes we will see hung outside apartment ...
Xi'an, China eddakath... The most common Feng Shui animals are dragons, lions, dragon horses, turtles and cranes. The first two were normally reserved for emperors in ancient times. You simply place your Feng Shui animal in position to counter the bad Feng Shui and you are set, and the bigger the better. Each animal has it's own meaning: Dragons and Lions both seem to be for protection and good luck, dragon horses for success and also good luck, turtles for ...
Xi'an, Shaanxi, China josh.lambden... every two ramparts is just within the range of an arrow shot from either side, so that they could shoot the enemy, who wanted to attack the city, from the side. On the outer side of the city wall, there are 5948 crenellations, namely battlements. The soldiers can outlook and shoot at the enemy ...
Xian, China exploreamerica... availability of hot water meaning that you can drink and endless supply of tea and eat as many instant noodle soups as you like. The 1st night I was just shattered so I just ate some noodle soup with duck meat (the Chinese are mad for this vacuum packed preserved meat...I have no idea what is in it to preserve it but it tastes good) and then went to sleep. The Chinese people weren't too friendly with me that 1st night but after 2 had gone the next day the ...
Xi'an, China simonmain1... was jam-packed which did diminish the athmosphere of the place markedly. On the way back we visited a temple (forgot name, sadly) just outside of town. This was pleasently empty in contrast and was fabulously serene in it's layout and rightly holds UNESO world heritage status for it's buddhist figures and frescoes from the 11th-16th centuries. Definitely worth a visit. 15 November entry: Sadly Regine had caught a stomach upset in Xi'an. We were planning to move ...
Xi'an, Shaanxi, China wenzels... change some money, which turned out to be an experience in itself, waited nearly an hour at the bank. Afterwards we just had dinner at the hostel (pizza+club sandwich, due to their limited chinese menu) and watched pulp fiction. Since Omri had a bit of a cold and a really bad cough, and i had stomach problems, we decided to take it easy and just go for a look round. Xi'an has almost fully embraced capitalist shopping culture! The ...
