... A little way along, the track got very rough and the climb to the top started. Chucking it up a couple of gears and the climb wasn't anything to difficult, just rocky riding. Hard tail mountain bikes sure are ******* the tail! Soon enough I made it to the top and got an excellent view of the lagoon on one side, and the Baltic Sea on the other. As I found out later, it was actually the highest dune you can climb along the whole bike track.

... made my way down to the waterline. Luck was with me as after a short time of looking, I managed to find a small speck of amber that had been washed up by the waves. I made my way back to the town to search out a place to eat dinner. Ended up having a decent salmon dish at a restaurant near the harbour. Made my way back to the apartment and being tired from my lack of sleep the past few nights, crawled into bed reasonably early.

One room held Kalashnikov rifles and a full scale model of a surface to air missile, similar to the one that recently shot down the Malaysian Airlines passenger jet over Ukraine.

There was no control room, just a glassed-off area in one room, containing two mannequins who appeared to be handling a radio and some other portable equipment.

... here in Klaipeda! This park is full of sculptures done from 1984 to 1986 by various artists, it was formerly a cemetery but was demolished by the Russians. It started to rain again so we had to leave and head back home. Quiet afternoon but we did a little shopping, stocking up for the bus ride to Vilnius ...

... settled on soup, garlic bread, a cheese topped ham(?) thingy and banana pancakes for dessert. There was a huge variety of hot foods available and looking out the window it was pouring rain again. Bought a toy telephone with buttons that ring and a small picture book for Henris, and bought a card to put some money in for Tomas and Monika's wedding, to use on their thouse.
